Elevating Your Business with the Digital End to End Framework

This is our second installment outlining how the Digital End to End Framework can elevate your business. The first installment with information on how to change your business processes to be more efficient by automating and digitizing them, please read Turning Your Customers' Pains into Business Gains.

First Step

If a journey of a thousand miles starts with a single step, that first step can feel like the most daunting in the history of walking. The same applies to the business world; but there is good news. The Digital End-to-End Efficiency (DEEE) Framework has already been engaged in the Bureau of the Fiscal Service, and you can take your first step confidently with our lessons in your back pocket.

Identify the Right Process to Analyze

Acknowledge that no one knows your business better than you. It is highly likely that you already know where your process pain points, business bottlenecks, and optimization opportunities exist. But, before deploying DEEE, experience shows that applying quantifiable metrics to your general observations will drill down to the areas that provide the greatest impact while aligning with your organization’s priorities.

A matrix of your top processes perceived to be right for DEEE analysis will become your roadmap to enduring success. It is indispensable to map these processes out end-to-end, capturing all business scenarios and sub-processes and stakeholders and systems. These maps will lead you to the data needed to analyze against your organization’s priorities be they cost savings, customer experience, and the like. Transfer those findings to the matrix and then rank the processes by priority. Not only will you have the data to support your starting decision, but you will also have that list to continue working from.

Start

Last, do not be afraid to start small. As your team becomes more comfortable applying the DEEE Framework, their confidence will increase. With this groundwork prepared, you are much better poised to ensure that your desired outcomes align with your agency’s priorities well into the future.
